Amanda Hong Sermarini

Amanda Sermarini is a multi-talented artist hailing from the Outer Banks of North Carolina. With a background in private art studies and formal education from Appalachian State University, where she concentrated on painting, Amanda's artistic journey encompasses a diverse range of mediums, including painting, illustration, graphic design, and photography. Her fascination with portraits and the human form is evident in her work, which portrays complex emotions through beautiful subjects in surreal and unexpected situations.

Inspired by her love for television shows, movies, and manga, Amanda's artwork is characterized by extensive layering, vibrant colors, and elements of surrealism and neo-expressionism. Her pieces often feature floating objects and colorful skin, captivating viewers with their whimsical yet introspective nature.

Amanda's artistic talent has been recognized through various local exhibitions such as Art from the Heart and Whoops Gallery, as well as publications in Appalachian State University's literary and arts review, The Peel.

In addition to her artistic endeavors, Amanda has dedicated herself to teaching art at The Enrichment Center of Winston Salem, a day program for adults with IDD. As the curator of their art gallery for painting and ceramics, she continues to inspire and uplift others through the power of creativity.
